Frequently Asked Questions

Here is my experience: I struggled heavily with acne pre-period, and found my skin was always worse 1 week before my period. That being said, our hormones are deeply, deeply tied to our food intake and most specifically our blood sugar. While I do not recommend going off sugar on the program (don’t think this is a sustainable plan long term LOL) I do recommend that we focus on healthy forms of sugar. To circle this back to the hormonal question, it is my belief and it has been my experience that once blood sugar levels are stabilized, hormone levels are also greatly stabilized, leading to far fewer, if any, breakouts during the normal hormonal flux phase of the menstrual cycle. 

 

90% of my clients see massive improvements in the first 14 days of the program, however, everyone’s experience can be different. That being said, I've found that there was no “it gets better before it gets worse” phenomenon, just a calming and far, far less inflammation.

 

The first month will be a bit of a detox with our yummy recipes but after that, generally speaking, no. My goal is to create a full balance in your system, as opposed to just a crash and burn type experience, so a detox is not the ultimate goal of the program.

Yes, maybe. We’re removing a ton of bad stuff from your diet and filling you up with delicious goodness. You may see a reduction in your weight, but it’s not the whole point.

Also, if you'd like to avoid weight loss, we will put action steps in place to help you do so.

The whole point of the program is to get you glowing from the inside - out - watching the number on the scale is not a goal.

 

Yes! Everything in moderation that being said; I've found that as long as we're focusing on moderation here, you won't see a big impact on your skin if you're drinking coffee daily and having a few drinks a week:)

Here are the 4 biggest mistakes I see with trying to tackle natural acne clearing on your own:

You aren’t consistent…. because the steps are way too difficult to actually maintain. Deciding to NEVER eat sugar again is not a good life plan. 

In the Clear Code™ program we don't do "deprivation" and never eating sugar again. We take a slower approach that actually *sticks*.

You're doing the wrong things.

If you have food allergies and you decide on a vegan diet- you could be hurting yourself before you even start.

In the Clear Code Program we focus on figuring out what is actually going on with your skin, so that you take the guesswork out of the process.

Trying programs/medicines that work for other people, but aren’t what your body needs.

Taking time to respect what YOU need is incredibly, incredibly important.

Being wayyyyy too restrictive.

I talk about this a lot- but the main way I've been able to keep my skin clear is through an acne clearing lifestyle. Not, being insanely restricted all of the time. Detoxes are a GREAT way (and I do mean great, phenomenal) to jumpstart acne clearing, but what happens when they're done?

Never eating chocolate cake ever again sounds like a terrible idea, right?

In the Clear Code we focus on creating systems and habits that allow you to still enjoy yourself now and then WHILE keeping your skin clear. Chocolate cake AND glowing skin? Sign me please.

To be brutally honest with you; this program is NOT for you if...

  • You want a super fast, quick overnight fix for your acne. The goal of the program is to slowly heal your skin over a longer period of time, so that the healing LASTS for you
  • You're not willing to do the work, watch the modules and upgrade your diet, and/or you want me to do the work for you - clearing your acne naturally will take some transformation and you have to be willing to do the work
  • You’re already eating a FABULOUS diet, have no problems with consistency around food, but you’re still breaking out. It’s my experience, in cases like that, that you’re probably dealing with some hormonal stuff and would sincerely benefit from getting blood tests, hormonal tests, and candida tests done, and then working on very strict plan with a doctor
